postheadericon Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost – Sunday Selections

Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. The poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” below is just one of the many reasons I enjoy his work.
Red Barn Blue Skies presents Robert Frost and Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay

by Robert Frost
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

postheadericon Fall, leaves, fall by Emily Bronte – Sunday Selections

Emily Bronte brings us this beautiful poem Fall, leaves, fall to celebrate Autumn for today’s Sunday Selections.

Fall, leaves, fall

Fall leaves fall by Emily Bronte for Red Barn Blue Skies
Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day.
