A beautiful photo of a dragonfly combined with Dante Gabriel Rosetti’s ode make up today’s Sunday Selections.
Dragonfly at Red Barn Blue Skies for Sunday Selections

Dragonfly

Deep in the sun-searched growths the dragon-fly
Hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky:
So this winged hour is dropt to us from above.
Oh! clasp we to our hearts, for deathless dower,
This close-companioned inarticulate hour
When twofold silence was the song of love.

  • I can't wait for the dragonflies to return! I have so many varieties in my yard! They are so awesome to look at! Come on over to Olde Common Scents and share your gardening and craft tips. Have a great day! Love your blog.
    Alyssa 🙂

  • Isn't there something magical about dragonflies? I rarely see them here, but whenever I spot one, it's a special moment. 🙂

    Hugs,
    Birgit

PS: The German word for dragonfly is Libelle. It's nice, isn't it?

  • Dragonflies fascinate me too, I really enjoy watching them. We get large numbers of them here.

What a pretty word for such magnificent little creatures – Libelle.

  • Dragonflies are one of my favorite…insects? Is that what they're classified as?

    Regardless, I think they're beautiful.
