postheadericon Balance, Peace, and Joy – Sunday Selections

This week’s offering for Sunday Selections is a lovely thought about finding balance in your life. It comes from a beautifully talented and wildly popular artist – Thomas Kinkade.

His words are perfect companions for his art. I never knew that he was such a prolific wordsmith on top of being one of the world’s favorite painters. I enjoy his work immensely. This pretty painting is what I picture in my mind when I’m looking for my own peace.

Balance

Balance, Peace, and Joy

Balance, Peace, and Joy

are the fruit of a successful life.

It starts with recognizing your talents

and finding ways to serve others by using them.

~ Thomas Kinkade

Do you have an image you conjure up in your head or a place you retreat to? How do you share your talents and serve others?

postheadericon Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance – Sunday Selections

Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance are the chosen topics for this week’s Sunday Selections. It is unfortunate that I am in definite need of all three of these virtues right now. Things have not gone quite as desired or expected this past week, so I think I will just share a relevant quote for each virtue instead of choosing just one.

Patience

Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting.

~ Joyce Meyer

Perseverance

Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.

~ Julie Andrews

Persistence

Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.

~ Colin Powell

postheadericon Change, Gratitude and Joy – Sunday Selections

The message of today’s quote embraces change, gratitude, and joy as I bring back one of my favorite features – Sunday Selections. I enjoy the hunt for quotes, poems, and passages that ignite a spark in me or touch a chord.

Changes

There are many transitions occurring in our personal and professional lives at the moment. We have several different paths ahead of us and important decisions to make.

I found this quote from author William Arthur Ward to be a perfect fit as we explore the opportunities that are presenting themselves to us. Enjoy.

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings,

turn routine jobs into joy,

and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

~ William Arthur Ward

postheadericon Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost – Sunday Selections

Robert Frost is one of my favorite poets. The poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” below is just one of the many reasons I enjoy his work.
Red Barn Blue Skies presents Robert Frost and Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay

by Robert Frost
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

postheadericon You Are My Sunshine – Sunday Selections

I’m famous in our family for my lack of singing ability. It’s a sad fact that I was absent when talent and tonality were being handed out. Of course, this hasn’t stopped me from belting out a song now and then – much to the delight chagrin of my critters. You Are My Sunshine happens to be a favorite.

You are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine
